Head of Public Service names selection panels for recruitment of members of constitutional commissions

Holders of the positions serve a single non-renewable term of six years.

President William Ruto has appointed selection panels to recruit members of four constitutional commissions and independent offices following the end of the tenure of the current office holders.

They include; the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Commission on Administrative Justice (office of the Ombudsman) and the National Gender and Equality Commission.

Holders of the positions serve a single non-renewable term of six years.

"In that regard and to facilitate transition within the said bodies, His Excellency the President has today constituted the requisite selection panels for recruitment to the specific Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices," Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said in a statement on Thursday.

He added that the selection panels were appointed from professional bodies, organisations, institutions and state offices that constitute the statutory membership of selection panels for recruitment to the specific constitutional commissions and independent offices.

The selection panel for Recruitment of nominees for appointment as Chairperson and seven members of IPOA include; Mr Arthur Osiya from the Executive Office of the President, Hon (Rtd) Justice Msagha Mbogholi (Public Service Commission), Dr Monicah Wanjiru Muriu (Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission), Dr Raymond Nyeris (Kenya National Commission on Human Rights) and Ms Caroline Naikena Lentupuru (National Gender and Equality Commission).

The selection panel for Recruitment of nominees for appointment as Chairperson and one member of NGEC include; Ach Florence Nyole (Association of Professional Societies in East Africa), Timothy Odongo (Kenya Private Sector Alliance), Lerina Kariringah (National Council for Persons with Disabilities), Dr Lindah Musumba (Executive Office of the President), Janet Kung'u (Office of the Attorney General), Maimuna Mwidau (Ministry of Gender Culture, the Arts and Heritage) and Dr Reuben Chirchir and Mary Mwiandi both from the Public Service Commission.

The selection panel for Recruitment of nominees for appointment as Chairperson and two members of CAJ include; Edwin Makori (Association of Professional Societies in East Africa), Zena Atetwe Jalenga (National Council for Persons with Disabilities, Jasper Mbiuki (Executive Office of the President), Susan Chelagat (Office of the Attorney General) and Ambassador Patrick Wamoto and Joan A. Machayo both from the Public Service Commission.

The selection panel for Recruitment of nominees for appointment as Chairperson SRC include; Joshua Wambua (The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa), Patrick Mtange (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya), Monicah Sifuna (Kenya Institute for Public Policy, Research and Analysis), Quresha Abdullahi (Institute of Human Resource Management), Amos Gathecha (Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Service), Mary Kamonye (Executive Office of the President), Lawrence Kibet (The National Treasury and Economic Planning) and Samuel Kaumba (Office of the Attorney General).

The panel members have been gazette and are set to kick off the recruitment process soon.

Kenyans have been asked to apply for the positions and send in memoranda on the suitability of the candidates who will be shortlisted by the selection panels.
